October 30, 2019 | by David Massey
The Directorate General of Training and Research, Inland Revenue (DGTR-IR), Lahore is hosting its second International Conference on Taxation (ICT) in March 2020. The Conference will provide an opportunity to academics, researchers, tax administrators, tax practitioners, and decision-makers on fiscal and tax policy to present their research papers. Interested participants can also develop a paper by choosing a topic from the list here.
Briefly introducing the DGTR-IR, the institution is the academic wing of the Federal Board of Revenue, Government of Pakistan that trains newly recruited officers of Inland Revenue Service (IRS), Pakistan through a Specialized Training Program and holds In-service Training Programs for the IRS field officers and staff in the country. Besides, it also provides a discussion forum for tax-related issues in Pakistan.
The proposed Conference in March 2020 is part of the Directorate’s plan to develop ICT into an annual event. We believe that such endeavors help bridge the gap between tax professionals, particularly in developing countries, and the academic community and provide the former with some much-needed exposure to quality research on taxation.
Researchers who are interested in participating in ICT 2020 are welcome to send an abstract of their paper by 20 Novemberto Usman Ahmad Khan, Additional Director DGTR-IR along with their resume at the following e-mail address:
